My best friend who was also a nurse died of complications from
a brain tumor.
She had complained of headaches and the doctor told her
that she had migraines since the migraine medicine he ordered
got rid of her pain.
However nine months later, she had problems with walking
and balance.
It was only after she developed these symptoms that he did
a scan and found a brain tumor!
It was too late to remove the entire tumor and she died one
year and nine months later after having surgery, radiation
therapy, and rehabilitation, leaving her husband and five year
old daughter.
I wish that I had known at that time what I know now.
Screening tests are crucial to finding the cause to the
symptoms.
Treating symptoms is not the cure. It’s just a bandage to
the problem!

Eight years ago, my father called me after my husband had gall
bladder surgery.
He mentioned that he sometimes had pain in his back. He
described it as a sharp pain that comes and goes and doesn’t
last more than a few seconds.
I told him to go to the doctor and describe his symptoms
and have a scan done to see what could be causing the pain.
A few days later my father called me with the news. He had
a large aortic aneurysm. The doctors told him that he needed
surgery right away because there was a great chance that the
aneurysm could burst and he probably would not survive without
the surgery.
Just my suggestion saved his life because I told him what
to say and do about his complaint.
He is still alive today at the age of 83. |
