In her own words..

"I have seen many people face various health challenges and I have been influential in helping them cope with the least amount of complications."

"Over the years I have observed many people suffering unnecessary consequences because they were unaware of vital information to prevent health challenges.

I've often heard people say:

  • "I’d wish I’d known that piece of information before this happened."

  • "If I’d only known someone like you before so I could have avoided these complications."

Out of this grew my desire to give people the tools they need to become their own health advocates.

I believe....

People should know how to get the necessary information to make it easier for them to live their lives in a healthy way so they don’t have regrets about how they treated themselves both physically and mentally.

Many of my patients were too afraid to speak up for themselves. They did not know what questions to ask, how to keep track of their own health care records, or how to do research.

As a nurse I want to answer the questions and provide the tools to help people take care of themselves and their family members.

Some personal stories..

My best friend who was also a nurse died of complications from a brain tumor.

She had complained of headaches and the doctor told her that she had migraines since the migraine medicine he ordered got rid of her pain.

However nine months later, she had problems with walking and balance.

It was only after she developed these symptoms that he did a scan and found a brain tumor!

It was too late to remove the entire tumor and she died one year and nine months later after having surgery, radiation therapy, and rehabilitation, leaving her husband and five year old daughter.

I wish that I had known at that time what I know now. Screening tests are crucial to finding the cause to the symptoms.

Treating symptoms is not the cure. It’s just a bandage to the problem!

Eight years ago, my father called me after my husband had gall bladder surgery.

He mentioned that he sometimes had pain in his back. He described it as a sharp pain that comes and goes and doesn’t last more than a few seconds.

I told him to go to the doctor and describe his symptoms and have a scan done to see what could be causing the pain.

A few days later my father called me with the news. He had a large aortic aneurysm. The doctors told him that he needed surgery right away because there was a great chance that the aneurysm could burst and he probably would not survive without the surgery.

Just my suggestion saved his life because I told him what to say and do about his complaint.

He is still alive today at the age of 83.

Send us your story and it might be included in our next book.
